Straight answers about PillarFirst™: what is live, what is coming, how your data is handled, and how setup works. Can’t find yours? Email us and we will answer it.
PillarFirst™ is a transportation operating system built inside a working carrier. Today it is a driver app and a compliance dashboard for your office. A full TMS is coming soon. The digital road test and PillarFirst Safety™ Services are available now.
Carriers from one truck to 5,000 trucks, and especially small and mid-size fleets that still run on paper, spreadsheets and text messages.
It is pronounced “PILL-er-first.” A pillar is a supporting structure and a founding principle. The name means building the business on four pillars, with safety first: safety, people, business strength and service.
No. PillarFirst is software for carriers. We do not broker freight, post loads or move your freight. We build the tools you use to run your own operation.
No. It gives them better tools and surfaces problems earlier. If you do not have a safety director, our Safety Services can fill that role.
Live today: the driver app, paperwork, fleet records, insurance requests, incident reports, alerts, roles and the digital road test. Coming soon: the TMS. Our demos page and TMS page show which is which, and every page labels planned items as planned.
No app-store download is needed. Drivers sign in on a phone or tablet, and can add it to the home screen so it opens like an app.
Yes for paperwork. When a driver picks a truck and trailer, that unit's documents are saved on the device, so they still open in a dead zone.
The documents officers and auditors ask for: IRP cab card, IRS Form 2290 Schedule 1, certificate of insurance, annual DOT inspection report, IFTA license, and state and base registration for each truck and trailer.
Carriers on the new PillarFirst platform invite each driver to create a personal login. Carriers that started on the original sign-in still use a driver password that an administrator sets and can change at any time, which signs every driver out. Either way, sessions end after a few minutes without use, and office staff have their own logins and roles. Moving every carrier to personal driver logins is planned.
No. The driver app is designed so drivers do not see pay or personal documents. Detention, where a carrier turns it on, is the one exception.
The driver completes a guided report on the phone, with photos. It gets a number automatically (for example WH-2026-001), the safety team is alerted by email and phone, and the report keeps a history. The driver sees only their own report number.
Yes. Your company name and logo appear on your login screen and documents. PillarFirst™ appears as “Powered by PillarFirst Inc.”
The accident form and the Safety page are available in Spanish today. This website is in English, Spanish, French, Russian and Turkish, and more of the app will follow.
Expired and expiring inspections, registrations and insurance, VIN mismatches, and missing documents. They surface on their own, so nobody has to go looking.
No. It helps you track and see what needs attention. Your carrier stays responsible for compliance, and PillarFirst does not certify anything. See our Safety page for the rules we build around.
It does not change a score by itself. It helps with the daily work that keeps a record clean: current paperwork, fewer missed expirations, and faster, better incident records. FMCSA has approved a restructure of the scoring categories, with the launch date to be announced.
Driver records include CDL and medical-card expiration dates today. The full qualification file, with FMCSA lookup, is coming soon.
The safety team sees all of it. The driver sees only their own report number. Flags such as DOT-recordable and post-accident test clocks go to safety only.
No. It flags when an accident may need post-accident testing and shows the timing, so the safety team can act. The testing itself is done by your testing provider.
A transportation management system, coming soon: recruiting and driver files, dispatch and loads, finance, maintenance, IFTA, messaging and reporting, in one connected place. See the roadmap.
There is no fixed date yet. If you want early access as pieces become ready, tell us about your fleet.
A road test on a tablet for qualifying drivers: scan the CDL barcode, rate every item, collect both signatures, and get the road test form and certificate as PDFs. It follows the road test described in 49 CFR 391.31. It is live today as an add-on that is set up for each carrier.
No. It produces the road test form and certificate that belong in the driver's qualification file. Keeping the file complete is still your responsibility.
You do. Your fleet's records are yours, and PillarFirst does not hold them hostage. If you ever leave, ask us for a copy.
Yes. Every carrier's records are separate, and one carrier can never see another's. A new carrier starts empty.
Access follows roles: owner, admin, safety, fleet records and plain office roles. Permissions are checked on the server for every request, not just by hiding buttons.
In the cloud, on modern, secure infrastructure. Files such as photos and paperwork are kept in private storage that people cannot reach without signing in.
Office passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and new office users set their own password through a one-time invite code.
We do not claim one. Ask us about how the system is built and we will answer plainly.
A one-time setup fee gets your account configured, plus a simple ongoing fee. We quote it for your fleet size, so tell us about your fleet and we will give you a number.
Eligible new subscriptions get the Quarterly Free Week: pay for three weeks, get your fourth week free, then enjoy one free week every quarter. See the questions below and the full terms on the pricing page. Everything is agreed in writing before you start.
Pay for three weeks and your fourth week is free. After that you get one free week in every 13-week period (weeks 4, 17, 30, 43 and so on). It is a credit to your subscription, not a pause in service, and it is not every fourth week. It applies to eligible new subscriptions to the Driver App, the TMS and the Digital Road Test.
Your invoice shows the credit as its own line: seven calendar days at your actual daily rate for that month, so a 30-day month credits 7/30 of your charge and a 31-day month credits 7/31. If your free week falls across two invoices, the seven days are split between them.
Yes. The credit includes the prorated minimum charge, so a small fleet at the minimum still sees its bill go down in the month that holds the free week. The minimum still applies to the days you pay for.
No. Staffed Safety Services are never free. What we offer instead is a complimentary 30-minute fleet safety consultation. If you buy software and Safety Services together, the software can carry the Quarterly Free Week and you can still book the consultation.
Thirty minutes with our safety team: an introduction to our expertise, a look at where you may have compliance concerns, and an explanation of which package fits. Full audits, driver qualification file reviews, corrective action programs and the ongoing Safety Director service are paid services, scoped and priced in writing. The consultation is not legal advice and does not guarantee any audit or score result.
It depends mostly on how quickly you can send your truck, trailer and driver lists. We handle the technical setup, and you can import from a spreadsheet.
No. You give us your fleet and staff details, and we configure everything.
Yes, at any time. The same system that runs one truck runs five thousand.
Live today: an FMCSA carrier lookup and email and phone alerts. Many more are planned, including ELD and hours-of-service providers, fuel and payment cards, accounting, factoring and load boards. See the Integrations page.
Tell us what you use. What carriers ask for most is built first. Some connections also depend on the other company allowing access.
No. Your ELD stays your ELD. We plan to connect to the major providers so their data can sit beside your paperwork and compliance records.
An outsourced safety director, driver qualification file audits, mock DOT audits, CSA and inspection review, accident review, drug and alcohol program support, written policies, driver coaching, and help setting up a new carrier. We tailor the scope to your fleet.
Yes. That is one of our core services, for carriers that do not have one or need extra coverage.
No. Our services support your DOT and FMCSA compliance work. They do not replace legal advice and they do not guarantee any inspection, audit or score result.

Email us. Requests from carriers decide what we build first.
Yes. Our demos page shows sample screens, and we can walk you through the demo company live. Email sales@pillarfirst.com to book it.
