Authorized Safety staff can place a driver on a Safety Hold or Out of Service status. While the hold is active the driver cannot be dispatched, by any route. Only an authorized Safety user can release the hold and restore active status. Dispatchers, driver managers and administrators cannot, unless Safety release is separately granted to them. Every placement and release needs a reason and is recorded in the audit history.
